Access to Cadence’s Academic Online Support knowledge base is available to all EUROPRACTICE/Cadence customers via a Reference Key supplied by the Microelectronics Support Centre. Academic Online Support allows users to search through application notes, product manuals, troubleshooting info and more. it also allows users to book free of charge online training courses.
Online submission and tracking of service requests, downloading or ordering of tools is NOT possible through Academic Online Support.

Important - Undergraduates. Undergraduates are eligible for access to Academic Online Support but MUST NOT be given direct access to the Reference Key. As per the terms of use,
the Reference Key must only be shared with Staff colleagues and Research (PhD) Students, who can set up their own Support Accounts. The Reference Key MUST NOT be shared with Undergraduates.
A Staff or Research Student colleague MUST go through the Support Account set up for any Undergraduates. Please read the instructions on undergraduate support account set up before completing the process. Please e-mail us if you have any questions.
Variation Agreement to End User Agreement
EUROPRACTICE/Cadence customers can gain access to Cadence’s Academic Online Support knowledge base by completing a Variation Agreement to the EUROPRACTICE/Cadence End User Agreement. One high quality, colour, scanned PDF version of the signed Variation Agreement should be e-mailed to the Microelectronics Support Centre MicroelectronicsCentre@stfc.ac.uk.
Note that the the Variation Agreement needs only to be signed once (as per the main Cadence End User Agreement) by an appropriate member of staff (Head of Department or Full Professor, or specialist legal staff).
Once the Variation Agreement is received, the Microelectronics Support Centre will send a Reference Key to the EUROPRACTICE Representative, with instructions on how it should be used. Note that Reference Keys are processed on the usual monthly order to Cadence, in the same way that licenses are ordered.
New Users
You will need:
An email address in your institution’s email domain
A reference key (contact your EUROPRACTICE Representative)
Contact your EUROPRACTICE Representative to arrange signing and submission of the Variation Agreement to the EUA (see above)
If your site already has the Variation Agreement to the EUA in place, ask your site rep for the Online Support reference key
Following the on-screen instructions, use your institution email address to create the account
Enter the Reference Key obtained from your EUROPRACTICE Representative
Wait for the confirmation email with your single-use password
Sign in and reset your password
Login and finish setting up your account.
Online Support Class Renewal
Reference Keys are renewed annually, in line with the licence keys. When the reference key expires, existing users will need to re-attach their email address to the new key.
You will need to obtain the new reference key from your EUROPRACTICE Representative.
Enter your existing email-address and password, click Log In
When the “Access Denied” page appears, click on the Reference Key radio button, copy and paste your new reference key into the appropriate field, then click SUBMIT
You should be transferred to the home page of your account
Subsequent logins should use the newly saved reference key
