Course
Title: Hands-on training on radiofrequency (RF) characterization
Start Date: 16-Jun-2025
End Date: 18-Jun-2025
Time: 09:00 to 18:00 Days 1 & 2, 09:00 to 13:00 Day 3 (local time)
Location: CIME Nanotech, 3 parvis Louis Néel, Grenoble, France, Grenoble, France
Presenters: CIME staff
Cost: 225.00 EURO
Overview:

This 2.5-day training provides a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in radiofrequency (RF) characterization. Participants will gain hands-on experience using state-of-the-art equipment to analyze RF devices and systems.

Details:

The program includes measurement sessions (S-parameters, noise figure, non-linearity), digital modulation techniques, and introduction to high-performance tools such as 4-port VNAs up to 220 GHz, signal analyzers, fast oscilloscopes, and software-defined radio platforms.

Why Join?

  • Access to advanced RF characterization tools on the CIME Nanotech HOG platform (Microwaves and Guided Optics Platform)
  • Combination of lectures, practical work using Matlab/Simulink, and live demonstrations
  • Learn to measure, interpret, and improve RF circuit performance
  • Direct exposure to digital modulation analysis and real-world RF measurement setups

What You'll Learn:

  • Key RF characterization metrics
  • Core principles of radio communication techniques
  • Measurement challenges and how to address them
  • How RF circuit imperfections affect digital modulations
  • Applications and trends in RF and wireless systems
Prerequisites:

This training is suitable for IC designers, RF engineers, and PhD students in microelectronics and telecommunications who want to better understand and apply RF measurement techniques.
