Title: 2D Pilot line: hands-on training on IC design of graphene-based devices seminars only - Hybrid in person or online
Start Date: 01-Sep-2025
End Date: 01-Sep-2025
Time: 09:30 to 13:00 (local time)
Location: imec
Presenters: Experts from five 2D Pilot Line partners: AMO, Graphenea, IHP, imec, and VTT
Closing Date: Registration closes 22-Aug-2025 or earlier when places are filled.
Notes:

It is possible to attend an extended 2-day in person course. Options exist for day 2 hands-on practical sessions by VTT or IHP

Overview:

This hybrid (in-person or online) half-day event is offered by the EU-funded project 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL). Expert trainers from project partners will deliver IC design skills to enable access to multi-project wafer runs for all attendees – following the expression “share the mask, share the price”.

Details:

The event will start with a session of introductory seminars, diving into the framework of the 2D-PL in the EU semiconductor ecosystem and showcasing the technologies offered to potential users. The trainings will involve hands-on practice on Cadence and KLayout with four Project Design Kits (PDKs) for graphene-based devices (Graphene FET – GFET, graphene-based Photonic Integrated Circuits – PICs, graphene-based Biosensors) manufactured by four 2D-PL consortium members – VTT (Finland), IHP (Germany), Graphenea (Spain), AMO (Germany).

  • Day 1 Morning
  • A broad overview of the 2D-PL project will be the starting point of the oral session, with particular emphasis dedicated to the EU semiconductor ecosystem where the 2D Materials technology is framed. Then, participants will engage with expert-led seminars which outline theoretical foundations of the technologies offered in the project and the core principles of the devices that are accessible enrolling the MPW runs, i.e., GFET CMOS integration technology, graphene-based photonic circuit design and layout, and graphene as a bio-sensing platform.
