The EUROPRACTICE partners are pleased to offer training courses on selected EUROPRACTICE supported IC and MEMS design flows. The courses will examine a specific design flow and through a mixture of lecture and practical sessions will enable delegates to better understand the challenges and how to address these by appropriate use of design tools and design methodologies.

All practical sessions within these courses will use design tools that are available to EUROPRACTICE members through the EUROPRACTICE design tool service (software service) and will use IC technologies available from the EUROPRACTICE IC service (MPW service). The courses are provided by staff from the EUROPRACTICE partners, STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, IMEC and Fraunhofer IIS. The courses will be held at the EUROPRACTICE partners dedicated training facilities in Didcot (UK), Leuven (Belgium) and Erlangen (Germany).

The training courses are open to Professors, Lecturers, Academic Staff and Postgraduate students from established academic sites who are either Academic or Research Laboratory members of EUROPRACTICE. The current course schedule is:

with hands-on sessions using tools from Luceda Photonics, CST and Mentor Graphics 

14-May-2018 for 5 days   VHDL Language and Design Flow

21-May-2018 for 5 days   Comprehensive Digital IC Implementation & Sign-Off
(Using Cadence tools) 

30-May-2018 for 3 days   Big-D mixed signal design and implementation
using UMC 65nm technology and a multi-vendor flow with tools from Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Synopsys 

04-Jun-2018 for 5 days   Essential verification with System Verilog and UVM

05-Jun-2018 for 4 days   Verilog and SystemVerilog for Design

23-Oct-2018 for 3 days   Introduction to Technology CAD (TCAD)
(Using Synopsys Sentaurus Tools)
