The EUROPRACTICE partners are pleased to offer training courses on selected EUROPRACTICE supported IC and MEMS design flows. The courses will examine a specific design flow and through a mixture of lecture and practical sessions will enable delegates to better understand the challenges and how to address these by appropriate use of design tools and design methodologies.

All practical sessions within these courses will use design tools that are available to EUROPRACTICE members through the EUROPRACTICE design tool service (software service) and will use IC technologies available from the EUROPRACTICE IC service (MPW service). The courses are provided by staff from the EUROPRACTICE partners, UKRI-STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, IMEC, Fraunhofer IIS, CMP and Tyndall.

The training courses are open to Professors, Lecturers, Academic Staff and Postgraduate students from established academic sites who are either Academic or Research Laboratory members of EUROPRACTICE. The current course schedule is:

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the current situation, with many people prevented from travelling by their Institutes or national governments and others not wishing to travel at the current time, the following planned training courses are CANCELLED and POSTPONED to a later date.

  • 16-Mar-2020 to 18-Mar-2020 "Introduction to Analogue Mixed Signal IC Design Using a Cadence Design Tool flow and UMC65nm process" which was planned to be held at UKRI-STFC

  • 17-Mar-2020 to 19-Mar-2020 "Hardware-efficient Machine Learning: Designing across the algorithm-architecture-circuit stack" which was planned to be held at imec

  • 30-Mar-2020 to 01-Apr-2020 "Introduction to Analogue IC Design, Simulation, Layout and Verification (using Synopsys Custom Compiler tool flow)" which was planned to be held at UKRI-STFC

  • 30-Mar-2020 to 03-Apr-2020 "Design verification with System Verilog" which was planned to be held at imec

  • 15-Apr-2020 to 17-Apr-2020 "Advanced Photonic Packaging: Computational Methods for Designing and Optimizing the Building-blocks used in the Advanced Photonic Integrated Circuits" organised by Tyndall and which was planned to be held at University of Cagliari, Italy

  • 27-Apr-2020 to 29-Apr-2020 "Introduction to Technology CAD (TCAD) (Using Synopsys Sentaurus Tools)" which was planned to be held at UKRI-STFC

All delegates booked on an affected course will be contacted individually. Other courses, starting in May 2020 are under review. If you are interested in a specific course then either register your interest by joining the waiting list for this course or emailing MicroelectronicsCentre@stfc.ac.uk
