Xilinx/EUROPRACTICE DSP Primer workshop

The Microelectronics Support Centre at STFC/RAL and Xilinx are pleased to offer this free of charge 2-Day Xilinx Professor Workshop which will run at STFC/RAL in May 2012.

Delegates will be expected to finance and arrange their own travel and accommodation.  Lunch and light refreshments will be provided each day.  All computer hardware and tools will be provided on site.

This course provides attendees with an oppurtunity to learn about to FPGA-based Digital Signal Processing (DSP) design and will include lectures and hands-on practical lab sessions which will include using the Xilinx System Generator DSP tool.

Topics covered will include:

• Xilinx ISE software design flow for DSP
• Fixed point Data Types
• Features and architectures of the DSP48x slices
• Xilinx System Generator Simulink. software for DSP design
• Real time DSP examples on the FPGA board using audio input/output codecs
• High-speed Cascaded Integrator-Comb (CIC) filters, Numerically Controlled Oscillators (NCOs), QAM transceiver
• QR algorithm for least squares and adaptive algorithm implementation
